Michael and Cara's Wedding in Ilocos Norte

This event has been one of the biggest and grandest weddings held in Northern Luzon. Over 4,000 spectators such as VIPs composed of big company tycoons, media, public officials all over the Philippines and  locales have witnessed this remarkable wedding ocassion of Atty. Michael Marcos Manotoc and Cara Manglapus-Manotoc.

Under the planning of the then Governor and present Senator Imee Marcos and a handful of event experts headed by the Ilocos Norte Tourism Officer, Mr Ian Raquel, Sen. Imee planned the occasion to be Ilocano-themed as inspired on local weddings. A tradition called bitor or pasala is where the couple dances and guests shall present their gifts to the couple as a form of blessing. But on this event, these traditions served as fund-raising activity for the victims of Typhoon Ramil in Visayas way back November 2017.

As written in history, the two families' grandfathers - President Ferdinand Marcos and former Foreign Affairs Secretary Raul Manglapus - were big political rivals especially in the 1965 Presidential Elections. But little did the public know, years of great opposition between the two families finally came to an end through this celebration of love and unity of the double "M" couple.

It was also a great honor to have shared this stage with my fellow wedding host, Ms. Stella Gaspar-Gudoy. Viewers can also watch the wedding highlights courtesy of Coverlook Team by Mr. Ronald Macatulad: https://fb.watch/8iicXc0ERM/

Special thanks to Ramel Estabillo for my prince-themed attire that day!
